EARLY ACCESS: Trans Women in Sports

VIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/ez_L9plhuKI

Hello everyone, it's early access day! And by the way, In case you missed it, I did a mid-week video for everyone that I didn't end up posting on Patreon first. I apologize for that, if you didn't see it yet, it was a Social Media Meltdown about Bill Burr's appearance at the Grammys (Here's the link: https://youtu.be/ov53MxQCAeU). Anyway, on to this weekend's video, which I'm sure will have a very calm, orderly comments section.

Debate over the "Equality Act" has led to concern that women's sports will be destroyed if trans athletes are allowed to compete in them. But what if these people found out that trans athletes not only CAN compete in women's sports, they already are and have been allowed to compete at the Olympics for 18 years, and the sports have not been destroyed? And since when do Americans actually care about women's sports?

At the levels that would result in potential scholarships? No, there's so much shit that goes on, and they can always add more. If a high school wanted to force all athletes to get physicals (which they should) and include bloodwork, they easily could with no discrimination. But like... I mean, when I was in high school, I could have tried out for the Football team, but they wouldn't have just let me play... and in fact they almost definitely wouldn't have let me play, in grade 9 I was about 100lbs. But that's not discrimination, sports have always been allowed to have a process where they get to decide who gets to be on the team... not the right size, not the right height, not the right attitude... you're not on the team.

Remember your “something on the rocks” video? I feel Adam Levine needs to be shown that video after his “there are no bands left” comments went viral.

Oh neat, I always thought high school sports were just a free for all, well you learn something new everyday

It is still highly unlikely that those sports would allow that either. Unless we're talking about ridiculous intermural sports, where half the time they're co-ed anyway and they mean nothing, like slowpitch softball or dodgeball or floor hockey or something. But most sports that involve scholarships and medals would also follow Olympic guidelines. If you are an athlete with a goal to go professional (which is why you'd get a scholarship and compete at that level, schools aren't paying for you to go to school there for no reason, they want the return on investment when you go pro and they can say "that person played here") or to go to the Olympics or compete for World Championships/PanAm Championships, etc, most of the time you'll have to follow the same guidelines that you would at the top level of the sport. And those guidelines currently are "2 years taking hormone replacement therapy, testosterone levels down below 10 nanomoles/litre (possibly 5 in some organizations) and you must keep them below those levels during the time you are training and competing".

I agree it’s pretty dumb but I think the people arguing that are referring to local sports not professional, the kind of sports where scholarships and medals are the only rewards and where a built man saying he’s a chick can wipe the floor with average women.
