Here's a fun fact for you: the day that I put out my original Rebecca Black video (March 21, 2011), it was viewed 53 times. FIFTY-THREE. The video now has over 900,000 views, but it's always fun and perhaps a little humbling to look back at stats like that. The actual song supposedly had a similar (but obviously more pronounced) arc, as it was actually released in February and got very few views until it was featured on Tosh.0 and it blew up a month later. And so, 10 years later she's back with a remix, and I'm back to make fun of it. The circle of life! Here's the description from YouTube:
March is the 10 year Anniversary of Rebecca Black's "Friday" going viral. It's also the 10 year Anniversary of Buckley's rant about the song. And for the 10th Anniversary, Rebecca Black released a remix of the song that made her a laughingstock, in the hopes that maybe now she can be in on the joke. Buckley looks back at a prediction from his original video, and wonders if maybe it's better to leave old wounds alone instead of picking at them.
