EARLY ACCESS: Taylor Swift's Pandemic Profits!

VIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/Z24lSibfASY

Happy 2021! And while I'm sure many are very happy that 2020 is over, allow me to be the first to be a grim reminder that the more things change, the more they stay the same. And it's with that in mind that we discuss the 2020 output of Taylor Swift, including her "surprise" album release only a few weeks ago. I'll let the video description do the rest of the explaining:

Many praised Taylor Swift for giving them something to do during you-know-what, as she released two albums in 2020. But is Taylor truly just a benevolent musician giving us poor nobodies something to look forward to during "these times of uncertainty"? OR is she the only artist making money during a once-in-a-lifetime event?

I don't know, I think we're pretty different. He fancies himself a real music critic who tries to be funny sometimes. I'm a real comedian who tries to be a music critic sometimes.

Bro side note.... did you have a bastard child 20 years ago? Cause Todd in the Shadows seems to be coming for your old Youtube seat and sometimes sounds like you LOL

I have no idea why people would pay for the photos. I really like both of those albums and I paid money for the music (I do believe in actually supporting artists). But under no circumstances would I hand over money for pictures of her. And the fact that there’s a market for that is insane to me.

I really can’t stand Taylor Swift. She just comes across so holier-than-thou.

"How'd you learn- how, how did your overpriced crap game come up?" "Yeezy taught me"

Well, monetarily she did pretty well, the album's been #1 for a couple weeks now I believe (of course, a #1 album means a lot less than it once did, and especially at a time when other artists aren't putting out a lot of stuff, but still I think she's probably happy with the performance).

Yeah, it's actually hard to look up and determine the original retail price of Yeezy brand stuff online because most of what's being sold is through resellers. I can't blame Kanye for a pair of shoes being $1000 if they're being sold by some guy who bought them for $250 or something for example (might be a bad example, they might cost $1000 to begin with, I'm not 100% sure). Of course, in this case, with Swift's merchandise, this IS the retail price.

Oof there is a popular fashion brand in the rap community called “FTP” (fuck the population) they charge next to nothing on purpose so that there fans can afford them (I’m personally wearing a long sleeve that was 30$) and a lot of them end up re-sold for double or tripled the asking price. Which can be frustrating if you miss there drop even by an hour. But if you invest a little time into getting the drop its very achievable to get a shirt or two.

At least one comment here seems to miss Buckley's key point... 🤔

I thought Folklore was a HUGE improvement over Reputation and most of her pop stuff (I’m also biased as I favor guitars over synthesizers) but I feel Taylor released a followup WAY too quickly and it also wasn’t a wise decision to release music in December when holiday songs dominate the charts.
