Late (catching up) but omg speaking of elder scrolls stuff I found this yt channel recently where a guy inserts himself into the games (mostly skyrim but also morrowind and oblivion) and he does that so well, just a regular guy hanging out, talking to npcs, looking like he belongs there (the channel is called cor canish if anyones interested its all I've been thinking about for 3 days now, real brainworms moment, don't mind me)

2024-02-02 13:52:55 +0000 UTCAAa I loved collecting the Neopets TCG cards as a kid!! I still have my collection; I used to get packs from Target with my allowance. They had maybe 7 or 8 expansions? I have dreams of someday finishing my collection, but having to buy all the individual cards I'm missing feels like it will be a massive pain in the ass. Downside of it being a Wizards game is that those cards are never getting rereleased; I don't think current Neopets has the resources to make a deal with WotC again

2024-02-01 18:07:45 +0000 UTCthought i should let you guys know, I'm a mail carrier and this woman on my route has ordered two huge packages from blackmilk over the last few weeks. they were expensive enough orders that they required a signature.. possibly stocking up on snape jerseys? also since we're talking about MMOs it is my duty to mention that Old School Runescape is maybe the best one in the game right now, though im biased because ive been playing it for 20 years.

It's actually perfect for your wheelhouse - the bonkers story, the IP of it all, the lore, the equally bonkers fanbase. I've never read a single one of those books but I would devour every episode from yall.

2024-01-28 20:18:54 +0000 UTCThe Neopets cards were definitely sold at Walmart or Target! I have vivid memories of my dad buying me some when I was home sick once. Anyway, I'll admit I spent money to buy a UC skin for my faerie ruki and he is beautiful now. I'm glad they didn't go full lootbox with them, but I hope they'll release plushie soon because those are some of the cutest designs.

2024-01-28 14:50:04 +0000 UTCfwiw, i also remember being pretty annoyed with peeta as a young reader, but iβm super curious to see what you guys think of him in the movies!! i think josh hutcherson makes him exponentially more likable than he was in the books (and on the flip side, liam hemsworth did NOT have the juice for gale imo, disappointingly)

Like Xeecee mentioned the RP scene is really good, with a great mix of serious and silly people with a lot of fun concepts for superheros all over the spectrum of comics, but overall it's just a really fun community. There's Shitters here and there obviously, but I think that a large part of what makes the community so good is that given that it's a revived MMO that was gone for a decade or so, everyone there is keenly aware that this is all something that could just Go Away one day, and that's created a certain atmosphere of not wanting to waste what they have.
