The setting sun stained the sky crimson, casting a warm, ominous glow across the damp earth of the Matura Ring. This sacred arena, encircled by coarse rope, was where young warrior women came to prove their strength in the coming-of-age ritual known as Kanari—a brutal rite of passage where flesh and spirit were laid bare.

Now standing within the ring were two such warriors: Kaara, her long hair flowing behind a red ceremonial headdress, and Sheira, her piercing gaze unwavering beneath a blue one.

Both stood over 180 centimeters tall, their physiques chiseled and dense with muscle, the product of years of discipline and instinct. They had grown up together—rivals since girlhood—and had long known this day would come.

To the tribe, they had always been more than just women. Their commanding presence, their strength,—they were future legends in the making. And now, the question whispered for years through the village—“Which of them is stronger?”—was about to be answered.

Wearing nothing but their ritual mawashi, the two stepped forward into the center of the Matura Ring. Their eyes locked. The air between them tightened. Chest met chest with a dull thud, the heat and weight of their bodies pressing together in a quiet collision of dominance. They stood so close, their foreheads nearly touched, neither flinching, neither blinking. The tension was alive, almost audible.

At last, they separated. Each dropped her weight low, coiling for impact. And then, without warning, the village drums thundered across the clearing.

Kaara and Sheira exploded forward at once. Fists swung in mirrored arcs, aiming for the face. Bone struck flesh. The sound of two bodies colliding echoed across the arena.

The Rite of Blood Blows had begun.
