Smack! Smack!

In an empty ring, Ann and Sky exchanged blows over and over. Sweat dripped down their bodies, their ragged breaths intertwining. The match was nearing its final moments, both fighters pushing past their limits. And yet, their fighting spirit showed no signs of fading.

Seizing a brief opening, Sky’s sharp left straight shot forward, crashing into Ann’s face. The impact shattered through her cheekbone, sending shockwaves through her skull. Her vision blurred for a fleeting moment, but her will refused to break.

Ann quickly regained her stance, gritting her teeth as she launched a punch of her own. Her counter-hook connected with Sky’s face, sending a ripple of excitement through the empty arena. But Sky didn’t falter. She, too, locked onto her target and let her fist fly. The next instant, their punches landed at the same time, smashing into each other’s cheeks.

A sharp, searing impact jolted through their bodies, their heads snapping to the side.

Still, neither fell. Planting their feet firmly on the canvas, they stepped forward once more.

Shaking off the dizziness clouding their minds, they met again at the center of the ring, pressing their foreheads together in a fierce stare.

Their breaths were heavy, their bodies burning. A strange, unfamiliar sensation surged deep within their chests—an exhilaration unlike anything they had ever felt before. The more they fought, the stronger it grew, rising to the edge of something close to pleasure.

“You’re still good to go, right?”

“Of course…!”

Once again, they clenched their fists, ready to dive back into the battle.

バシっ!!バシッ!!

誰もいないリングでAnnとSkyは幾度となく拳を交わしていた。汗が滴り、荒い息が交錯する。試合の終盤、両者ともに限界を迎えつつあるが、それでもなお前へ進もうとする闘志が衰えることはない。一瞬の隙を突き、Skyの鋭い左ストレートがAnnの顔面を撃ち抜く。拳の衝撃が頬骨を貫き、脳が揺さぶられる感覚にAnnの視界が一瞬滲む。しかし、彼女の闘志は折れない。

Annはすぐに体勢を立て直し、歯を食いしばって拳を振り抜く。カウンター気味のフックがSkyの顔をとらえ、会場がどよめく。だが、Skyも怯まない。彼女もまた、狙いを定めて拳を振るう。次の瞬間、両者の拳がほぼ同時に相手の頬を貫く。強烈な衝撃が走り、顔が跳ねる。

それでも誰も倒れない。足を踏ん張り、また前へ。

クラクラと揺れる意識を振り払いながら、二人はリング中央で再び相対する。

額を押しつけるようにして睨み合い、熱を帯びた息を吐く。体は火照り、胸の奥にこれまで感じたことのない感覚が芽生えていた。戦うほどに昂ぶる、戦うほどに快感に近い感情が込み上げる——。

「まだやれるよな？」

「当然…！」

二人は再び拳を握り締め、激闘の続きを求める——。
