Hi all,
I've been working on expanding the magnetic hex board with some additional pieces that make it compatible with the project GIPF games.
I'm ready to share a hex-ring compatible with Yinsh. For the time being I'm calling it a beta version as some minor things may change once its actually in folks hands.
The files can be found in the patron drive:

The ring prints in two identical pieces that snap together:

There is a center-hole on each side of the hex where a 3mm ball magnet can optionally be placed. The off-center-hole on each side matches with the peg of the other half and should not have a magnet placed in it. Hopefully that makes sense! I'll put together a better print and assembly guide once the design is "officially" finalized.
Like I said, the magnets are optional, but they do help align the ring to the large hex.
To play Yinsh, you would set up the board using the larger 1.5 inch hexes and then use the 1-inch hexes for the Yinsh discs. You would want to print rings in the colors of the two sides of the discs. In my case, I'm showing blue/grey 1-inch hexes and rings, played on a white board of 1.5 inch hexes:

Obviously, this is not a full Yinsh board.
If you print it, let me know if you have any feedback.
In unrelated news, I recently received my copy of Ragnarocks by Gord of Santorini fame. The game is great, but like many reviewers pointed out, the somewhat poor components get in the way of playing the game. Luckily, the magnetic hex board is a great substitute.
Here, is an admittedly fake game of Ragnarocks played with the 1-inch hex tiles for the board, the stones for the runes, and the pawns as your vikings:

And for the bold, the fact that the board is magnetic allows it to be played on the fridge:
