F&F: Mal character sheet 1

I was gonna wait until the other half of this sheet was finished but I decided to just post what I currently have! Mal in her human form gloooooooooory :)

In unrelated news, I'm not sure why but I've been feeling exhausted the past few days; I may have came down with a bug :/ I only bring it up because it's a little hard to focus, so there isn't much substantial info here but I'll try my best ;w;

DESIGN NOTES:

-I've always seen Mal as "sharp, hard-edged" in terms of her design and I don't think that's changed too much, though I have taken a broader approach to her. Whereas Sakura is "wide and broad", Mal is now "tapering broad"; she has wide shoulders but straight hips, long legs. A wide palm but long, tapering fingers. I wanted her to look somewhat androgynous; dunno if I fully succeeded there but I do like the direction her design took. :)

-Mal's human form still exhibit traits of her natural shape, just toned down; her hair is meant to look kinda like feathers, she still maintains her claws and fangs. Luckily for her, these traits aren't really giveaways to her true nature in this universe; it anything, she simply looks like an unusually large elf in this world.

-Mal doesn't actually shift into this form on purpose. In fact, she has no idea how it's possible and only has hypothesis to go off of. In other words: she's stuck in this form and has no idea how to get out of it. Luckily for her it's currently to her advantage; she's able to move around with little to no suspicion and it gives her information she otherwise wouldn't have access to. Unluckily for her, the implications are pretty clear; she's not only stuck as a human, she's stuck in the mortal realm and has no earthly idea of returning home.

I'm actually feeling particularly ready to start writing the script for the story; my initial idea was to finalize the designs of the main characters before starting (especially 'cuz I have hopes of this being a novel) but, meh. Why not get started sooner and just work as I go? So don't be too terribly surprised to see written shorts/lore dumps from me in the near future as I work on my writing groove! :> But ye! I hope ya'll like the art, ask any questions if you have any, and more will come soon! ^.^
