My GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRLS! I've been doing a whole bunch of writing and planning for a few stories I'd love to share with ya'll, some of which being, of course, for Feathers and Flowers! I believe I've mentioned this before, but F&F is receiving a rather large rewrite, in which I'm essentially hella simplifying the plot and focusing more on aspects from the previous iteration to make a more cohesive story overall. The characters have also received a bit of a facelift terms of design (sort of) and in motives/backstory. This is to give ya'll a quick rundown of the changes they've gone through! :)
-Mal: Spirit form remains the same, but now has a human disguise. Instead of having a set element she encompasses many domains, just as all Spirits do. More along the lines of an actual demigod than a pseudo one. Main domain is Storm (rain, wind, earth). Mal is now more proactive in her curiosity with the mortal realm; actively seeks to learn instead of simply being reactive. No longer has the language barrier; Spirit language now the "root" language of all existing ones in this world, meaning she can easily speak any language spoken to her. Still crash lands in the mortal realm and is found by Kaela. Reason behind crashlanding: she was fleeing from something.
-Kaela: Color and facial tweaks; made to be darker and look a bit older. Born to mixed parents and on a small island, she grew up with the dream of starting her own farm/gardening business in the States. Lived with a huge family instead of just her mom and brother. All family members are alive. Works hard enough to buy property (that comes with a house and barn) and moves a full ocean away with ambitions to work her way up in life. Soil of the property is total shit though; hard to actually grow anything other than weeds. Works at a local cafe for extra money, only enough to keep her afloat. Grows hopeless in getting the dream, becomes disillusioned and a little lonely (could have believed she wanted room from her family but finds she really misses them and her island). No longer shy or naïve.
-Evangeline: Remains a witch with affinity for lightning, though highly considering making it so witches can learn more than just one element. Retconned idea of her being heiress to huge family business; family is now reduced down to just her and her mother. Mother remains overprotective/overcontrolling but for more understandable reasons: she is afraid of what might happen to Evangeline due to her being a witch, and how witches are generally treated in this world. That manifests itself in her overbearing nature. Eva in turn is sheltered, shy, and cautious; always wears headphones and rarely speaks unless prompted to hide tells of her being a witch (fangs and pointed ears).
-Sakura: Slight change to hair and facial scar; it cuts through her lip instead of under her chin. Personality and role largely remains the same: still very much friendly, outgoing, the popular girl and the life of the party. However she has no target of ambition; she doesn’t lack it, she just doesn’t have anywhere to direct it. As star player of her college team, her skill has brought a lot of attention to the town and tourism has increased as a direct result of her prowess in football. Result: she is a local celebrity. Consequence: She feels as if she can't quit football anymore. Doesn't want to continue after college but has no idea what she could do otherwise. Family situation has changed: Instead of a large family like before, now only has her dads and baby brother, and her dog Puppy D. Woofy. Part of her decision to stay in football could also directly link to them (perhaps the allowance she gains as a college star helps a lot in supporting the fam, who could be paycheck to paycheck)

There's more but I think I've word-bombed ya'll enough for today! I hope you enjoy the art and the changes to the story, expect more soon! owo
