Poll 2: Content Preference
Added 2021-07-16 12:39:53 +0000 UTCMy patreon generally offers a little bit of each and will continue to do so but I have to ask: of the types listed below, what sort of content would prefer be the "meat" of the patreon? As in the content the Patreon primarily focuses on?
Alternatively, what is the content you specifically signed up for?
Keep in mind the content types below encompasses both original content and fandom content. I will provide visual examples for each if that helps your vote any.
Option 1: Comic Pages and Comic Strips. Focus on visual storytelling that allows for character driven stories short-form and long-form. May take longer than other content but able to focus more on in-depth story exploration. Allows for a more set story and plot to take place, especially for characters and in one specific setting instead of hopping around with no aim. Downside is I can't focus on more than a set few characters at a time
Option 2: Illustrations and Character Designs. One image fully-rendered + written blurb that serves as the storytelling aspect. Pros include able to produce these a little faster than comics, however lacks the same visual nuance a comic would allow. Good for the occasional storyblurb if more interested in the actual world-building aspect of content with some focus on characters (specifically seeing more characters and not focusing on a set few). Con includes never sitting and focusing on specific characters, meaning no one gets actual time to fully shine and will lack any relevant plot importance.
Option 3: Sketchdumps. A compilation of a bunch of sketches to make one post. Advantage is the speed of when they can be put out, disadvantage is the lack of focus. Ideal for general worldbuilding but not so much for character-focused plots or arcs. Good for anyone interested in just me worldbuilding for AUs, especially if you want more than one specific AU each fandom. Allows for more flexibility to build more AUs but will most likely result in very basic, intentionally incomplete stories with no focus or conclusion.

I do enjoy doing every type of content I listed here, though of the options I admit that I like working on the comics the most. I'm actually very surprised by how much I like them given how long they can possibly take me, but I'm also surprised by how the poll is going; with the questions I often get, I'd have suspected Sketchdumps be taking the lead here. Not that I'm complaining of course! But ye! Illustrations can be a middle-ground, though I do kinda find myself never fully focusing on an actual story to tell when I make them and usually just settle for some basic headcanon stuff and calling it a day. There's some ideas I'd like to try that's kinda-sorta a combination between comic and illustration/fanfic writing, but that's for later! For now I'm indeed curious to see what everyone would most prefer the meat of the patreon's content be. owo ALSO! Thank you so much for the feedback so far! 2021-07-16 18:59:33 +0000 UTCOh man, this poll is so much tougher because I love it all. ;__; Ultimately I decided to vote on illustrations and comics, but if I had to pick just one of the two I'd probably go illustrations just because they feel like the best middleground between comics and sketchdumps.
