Melon's Adventure: OH SHIT! (p4)
Added 2021-03-10 17:20:06 +0000 UTCMelon bolts as fast as he could across the flat plains of Chomp Chomp Hills, clenching his teeth hard to keep from yelping as another Chompy munched its way through the ground right next to him. Mario had no such reservations and yelled in panic as another lunged at them, tell-tale whistling of its decent warning Melon to make a mad zigzag to dodge it. Dirt clumps and grass ripped underneath his claws at the maneuver.
The ground shakes upon impact as the Chompie chomp-chomp-chomps its way down, but soon there's the shadow of another high in the sky and hovering over the pair. Melon chances a glance back and sees Mario, blanketless and wide-eyed with chubby hands clutching to his beloved hat, wailing at the big black mass filled with white teeth coming down right at them.
Melon leans as far forward as he dares and picks up his pace, a race against the hovering shadow and the soon-to-follow gaping maw. It's gonna be a close one!

Part 4 of the Yoshi's Adventure! miniseries! Melon and Mario make their way through the danger-filled Chomp Chomp Hills and nearly get... well, Chomped! Melon's had to run through the field before several times, but that experience doesn't make it any less scary. xD
The levels with the Chomp Chomps were some of my favorites in Yoshi's Island specifically because you had to run and dodge the falling critters. I always loved stuff that tested how fast you could outrun and out-react your pursuers and while the game's Chomps were relatively easy to avoid they were no less fun for me as a kid! owo So far this is one of my favorite pages to work on! ^.^
