MLP AU design test: Applejack
Added 2020-12-25 23:57:12 +0000 UTCMerry Christmas and Happy Holidays ya'll! here's a super quick design test for Applejack in the MLP AU I'm workin' on; in this universe she's a minotaur! owo So, quick notes on AJ's design and her role in the story:
-While I might go back and tweak her design some more, AJ as a Minotaur for the AU is way too good to pass up. It just fits her to a tee. In her original design she had a broken horn but I figured it'd work better if she simply had both horns whole in her redesign. If she does end up with a broken horn, it'd be sometime later in the story perhaps.
The second image shown is the initial concept I made for her redesign, but I've since changed it up and am more satisfied with the current outcome owo
-Applejack plays the role as a farmer and one of the first independent businesses to register for the "Inclusion" program. Said program is one of the many steps the Equestrian monarchy is taking to try and encourage peaceful coexistence between ponies and non-ponies in the country. This specific aspect of the program endorses non-pony businesses and opens more job opportunities to non-pony species in order for them to get a chance in careers they otherwise wouldn't due to their species.
At any rate, the Apple Family's farming business is much smaller in this AU, but it's quickly growing through the use of the program. Sweet Apple Acres in particular is the monarch's go-to suppliers for their produce, so Applejack makes many a trip to the Canterlot Palace to ship orders. AJ in specific doesn't often face the same verbal bashing some of the other nonponies do, but that's largely because of how intimidating she looks. It's worked somewhat in her favor; she's typically scary enough to drive others off when she calls out shitty behavior, but it's gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion. Those scars of hers are a testament to it.
