The Oocca (LoZ headcanon sneak peek)
Added 2020-09-15 15:52:33 +0000 UTCI was gonna wait until they were finished to show ya'll but I gotta work on some commissions first, so here's a sneak-peek of that sneak-peek! I'm probably gonna introduce at least 4 Oocca characters since they're so small in comparison to every other race, but for now here are the near-finalized sketch drafts for Ooccoo and Junior. I left the canon design picture in the left-hand corner this time to give ya'll a visual for comparison!
The Oocca as a species showed up in the game Twilight Princess but as far as I know, haven't been seen after that, which is a shame because they're super interesting! The process that got them to their current canon design was hella interesting too; apparently they were ape-like people who wore cloaks that resembled birds, the chicken specifically. SO! The idea I'm going with for their redesign is using their canon design as a jumping board but make them more "friendly" looking and taking a few beats from their first concept pass by giving them clothing to wear, mostly hoods, cloaks, or scarfs. Their feet will also probably be more like a chimp's foot instead of a bird's, and I also gave them "raptor wings" so they could have wings that doubled as functional arms with hands. They won't be able to fly as a trade-off though; instead they'll only be able to hover for very short periods of time, and glide at most.
I'm super excited to work on their costumes and color; I got a few birds I have in mind for them to take after! :3
