1.（蒸し暑い・・・）

ひそかに狙っていた男性の先輩の家に遊びに行けることになり、浮かれていたのに、今は後悔していた。真夏なのにエアコンがなく、扇風機しかない。故障しているのかと思ったが、もともと節約のためにエアコンを持っていないらしい。

今思えば、職場でもケチだと分かる行動がいくつもあった気がする。お弁当はいつも質素だったし、キーボードのキーが壊れても無理やり使い続けていたし、自販機は絶対に使わず、いつも自前の水筒を持参していた。顔が良く、面倒見もいいからそんな細かいところは見ずともがなだったけど、さすがにこれに付き合うのはきついかもしれない…。

2.「・・・一度だけですからね」

一目惚れした後輩を何度もデートに誘っていたが、いつも上手にいなされてばかりで、まるで進展がない。あまりしつこくするとまずいことになりそうなので、これで断られたら諦めようと決めて声をかけた。

「…一度だけですからね」

ジト目でため息をつきながらも、意外にもOKをもらった。予想外の展開に動揺する俺をよそに、後輩はスタスタと歩き出す。俺がついてきていないことに気づくと、面倒くさそうに振り返った。

「何してるんですか？ 早く行きましょうよ」

仕事中なのに、どこに向かうのだろうか。まさか外にデートに行くはずもない。状況が掴めないまま、俺は彼女の後を追った。

3.食べてるだけで色気がある人

ふとしたきっかけで訪れた中華料理店で、幼馴染の姉と偶然再会した。昔は幼馴染と3人でよく遊んでいたが、彼女と会うのは10年ぶりだ。当時から可愛かった彼女は、さらに色気のある美人に成長していて、ついよそよそしくなってしまう。そんな俺の様子が面白かったのか、彼女は積極的に話しかけてきた。昔の思い出や、これまでの近況など、話題は尽きない。

少しずつ緊張がほぐれてきた俺は、改めて彼女を見た。食事をしているだけで漂う色気があまりにも強く、気恥ずかしさからつい目を逸らしてしまう。このままでは下心が顔に出そうだったので、帰ろうと切り出すと、彼女に強引に二次会へ誘われた。軽い態度で引かれないよう、気をつけなければ。

I was excited about getting to visit the house of the male senior I'd been secretly interested in, but now I regretted it. Despite it being midsummer, there was no air conditioner, only a fan. I thought it might be broken, but apparently he simply doesn't own one to save money.

Come to think of it, there were several signs at work that showed he was frugal. His lunch boxes were always simple, he kept using his keyboard even when keys broke, and he never used vending machines, always bringing his own water bottle instead.
