1.そんな顔されても手伝えないよ

今日も仕事から帰ってきてすぐにノートパソコンで作業をする彼女。企業の方針として残業を減らしたいとかで、以前より帰ってくる時間は早くなったのだが、結局こうして仕事しているのだから意味がない。というか、残業代が出なくなったぶん明らかに損している。彼女は疲れ切った顔でノートパソコンの画面を睨みつけ、時折小さく舌打ちしながらキーボードを叩いている。

本当に可哀想だと思うし同情するのだが、心底嫌そうな顔でこちらをちらちら見られても、俺と違う業種の彼女を手伝う事はできない。せめて作業が落ち着いたあとにしっかり労ってあげよう。

2.「・・・飲み物とかいる？」

駄目もとで同じサークルの気になっている子にデートを申し込んだら、なぜかOKをもらったうえに、家にお邪魔できることになった。暑いから外は嫌ということで、それ自体は理解できるが、あまり面識がない男を部屋に入れる理由にはなっていない気がする。薄々気付いてはいたが、ちょっと変わった子なのかもしれない。彼女が不意に立ち上がり、キッチンへ向かうと、こちらを振り返って言った。

「・・・飲み物とかいる？」

少し前かがみのポーズで、彼女のスタイルが際立つ。いつもちらちらと目で追っていた彼女の尻がこんなに近くにある。さすがにいきなり手を出すわけにはいかないが、このまま理性を保てるか自信がなくなってきた。

3.「やっと来た」

彼女がお気に入りのバーで待ち合わせしていたのだが、電車の遅延で遅れてしまった。汗だくで走りながらバーに飛び込むと、こちらを振り向いた彼女が不満げに言った。

「やっと来た」

彼女は普段は優しいが、一度拗ねると機嫌を直すまで時間がかかる。なんとか酒の力を借りながら接待を頑張って、今日中にリカバリしなければ・・・。

1. "Don't give me that look, I can’t help you."

Today, she comes home from work and, as usual, dives straight into her laptop. The company’s been pushing to cut down on overtime, so she’s getting back earlier than she used to—but what’s the point when she’s still working like this? If anything, she’s worse off now that overtime pay’s out of the picture. She glares at the screen with a worn-out expression, occasionally letting out a soft tsk as her fingers tap away at the keyboard.I genuinely feel bad for her—I really do—but no matter how much she shoots me those resentful glances, there’s nothing I can do to help. We’re in completely different industries. The least I can do is make sure to cheer her up properly once she’s done.

2. "Do you want a drink or something?"

I took a shot in the dark and asked this girl from our club—the one I’ve had my eye on—out on a date. Somehow, she not only said yes but invited me over to her place. She didn’t want to go out because it’s too hot, which I get, but it doesn’t quite explain why she’s okay letting a guy she barely knows into her room. I’d had a hunch she was a little quirky, and this pretty much seals it. Out of nowhere, she gets up and heads to the kitchen, then glances back at me and says,“Do you want a drink or something?”The way she leans forward a bit highlights her figure. That backside I’ve always snuck glances at is suddenly right there. I can’t just make a move out of the blue, but I’m starting to wonder how long I can keep it together.

3. "You’re finally here."

We were supposed to meet at her favorite bar, but a train delay threw me off schedule. I sprint in, drenched in sweat, and as I burst through the door, she turns to me with a pouty, irritated look and says,“You’re finally here.”She’s usually sweet, but once she’s upset, it takes a while for her to come around. I’ve got to pull out all the stops—maybe with a little help from some drinks—to smooth things over before the night’s out.
