1.「がっつきすぎだろ」

1ヶ月間の出張が終わった。慣れない環境での激務で、もうへとへとだ。

遠方だったため彼女と会えず、様々な欲望が限界寸前まで募っていた。

疲れた身体を振り絞って最短で戻り、真っ先に彼女の家へ向かう。向かうことは伝えてあるが、こんなに早く着くとは思っていないだろう。彼女の驚いた顔を想像すると、思わず笑みがこぼれる。

「ただいま」

ドアを開けると、奥からドタバタと音が聞こえた。しばらくして彼女が現れる。部屋着姿で寝癖がついており、顔を赤らめている。

「ごめん……もっと遅く来るかと思って準備してなかった……せっかく久しぶりなのに……」

申し訳なさそうにうつむく彼女の腕を掴み、リビングへ向かう。

「えっ……何……どうした……？」

戸惑う彼女をソファに押し倒し、上着を脱ぐ。

「がっつきすぎだろ」

俺の様子を察した彼女が艶っぽく笑いながら言う。荒い息づかいで、先ほどより紅潮した彼女の表情からも、この展開を望んでいることが分かる。

1ヶ月分の思いを、思う存分ぶつけることにしよう。

2.「あ、お疲れ様です」

朝から晩まで働く毎日。辛くないと言えば嘘になるが、幸いにも人間関係が良好なおかげでなんとか持ちこたえている。学生時代は、退職理由の大半が人間関係だと聞いても「そんなことより給料と仕事内容だろう」と鼻で笑っていたが、今なら実感を持って納得できる。

「あ、お疲れ様です」

「……ああ、お疲れ」

疲れを微塵も感じさせない満面の笑みで挨拶をしてきた後輩に思わず見惚れてしまい、慌てて挨拶を返す。働き者で笑顔を絶やさない可愛い彼女は、職場の雰囲気向上に大きく貢献している。

「週末ですし、ご飯でも食べて行きませんか？奢りじゃなくていいですよ」

「いいけど……それは奢れって言ってるようなもんじゃない？」

「バレちゃいました？」

いたずらっぽい笑顔でクスクスと笑う。こういう笑い方は10代の純真さ特有のものだと思っていたが、彼女を見ているとそうとも限らないらしい。

「まあ今日も頑張ってたの知ってるしな……ラーメンでいい？」

「もちろんですよ！」

嬉しそうな声ではしゃぎながら、背中をバシバシと叩いてくる。こんな魅力的な子に彼氏がいないはずがないと思うし、二人で食事なんてして良いのかと不安になるが、向こうから誘ってきたのだからこちらは悪くないと自分に言い聞かせた。

3.「今日泊まっていっていい？」

「ごめん！彼氏に振られたから相手して！」

突然訪ねてきた先輩。同棲していた彼氏との間で浮気が原因の喧嘩になり、勢いのまま別れを決めて飛び出してきたという。

「そんなノリで決めちゃっていいんですか……あとなんでうちなんですか」

「これで浮気されるの3回目なんだよ？ 君ならどうせ暇で家にいると思ったから」

そんな風に平気で人の心を抉るようなことを言うから振られるんじゃ……と言い返したくなったが、さすがに可哀想で言葉を飲み込んだ。

「これからどうするか決まったら出てってくださいよ」

「はいはい」

全く聞く気のない態度にイラついたが、傷心のはずだから少しは優しくしなければと思い、コーヒーを淹れてあげた。

「ありがと」

「いえ。これでも飲んでさっさと落ち着いてくださいね」

1時間後、無言でお互いスマホを触っていたところで、先輩が突然口を開いた。

「今日泊まっていっていい？」

1. "You're too eager"

My month-long business trip is finally over. I'm completely exhausted from the intense work in an unfamiliar environment.

Being so far away meant I couldn't see my girlfriend, and various desires had built up to their limit.

I push my tired body to return as quickly as possible and head straight to her place. I told her I was coming, but she probably doesn't expect me this early. Imagining her surprised face makes me smile.

"I'm home"

When I open the door, I hear rustling sounds from inside. After a moment, she appears. She's in her loungewear with bedhead, her face flushed.

"Sorry... I thought you'd come later, so I wasn't prepared... even though it's been so long..."

I grab the arm of my apologetic girlfriend as she looks down, and head to the living room.

"Huh... what... what's wrong...?"

I push my confused girlfriend down onto the sofa and take off my jacket.

"You're too eager"

Having figured out my intentions, she says with a sensual laugh. From her rough breathing and her face, now even more flushed than before, I can tell she wants this too.

I'll pour a month's worth of feelings into this moment.

2. "Oh, good work today"

Working from morning till night, every day. It would be a lie to say it's not tough, but thankfully, good workplace relationships help me get through it. Back in my student days, I used to scoff when I heard that most people quit because of workplace relationships, thinking "surely salary and job content matter more," but now I understand from experience.

"Oh, good work today"

"...Yeah, good work"

I find myself staring at my junior colleague who greets me with a bright smile that shows no trace of fatigue, and hurriedly return the greeting. This hardworking, ever-smiling, cute girl contributes greatly to improving the workplace atmosphere.

"Since it's the weekend, would you like to grab something to eat? You don't have to treat me."

"Sure... but isn't that basically asking me to treat you?"

"Did I get found out?"

She giggles with a mischievous smile. I used to think such laughter was unique to teenage innocence, but watching her makes me think that might not always be the case.

"Well, I know you worked hard today... is ramen okay?"

"Of course!"

She excitedly pats my back while speaking cheerfully. I worry that such an attractive girl must surely have a boyfriend, and whether it's okay for us to have dinner together, but I reassure myself that since she's the one who invited me, I'm not doing anything wrong.

3. "Can I stay over tonight?"

"Sorry! My boyfriend dumped me, so keep me company!"

My senior colleague suddenly shows up. She says she had a fight with her live-in boyfriend over his infidelity and impulsively decided to break up before rushing out.

"Should you really make decisions like that... and why my place?"

"This is the third time he's cheated on me, you know? And I figured you'd be free and at home anyway"

I wanted to snap back that it's no wonder she gets dumped when she says such heartless things, but I felt too sorry for her and held my tongue.

"Please leave once you've figured out what you're going to do"

"Yes, yes"

Her completely dismissive attitude irritated me, but thinking she must be heartbroken, I decided to be kind and made her some coffee.

"Thanks"

"No problem. Just drink this and calm down, okay?"

An hour later, while we were both silently looking at our phones, my senior suddenly spoke up.

"Can I stay over tonight?"
