The Lion Fairy (FTR): Farm Girl 2
Added 2018-01-26 07:16:34 +0000 UTCMore exploration of the farm girl: I found a design for her outfit, now I need to find the hairstyle that fits her personality.
My experiences with character design has led me to finding how useful it is to do several iterations of one thing before choosing one: it lets you see all possibilities side by side and helps you make a more informed decision on what you want than what you would should you go with the first thing you do. That's why there's a lot of "repeat" right now. The actual character exploration in terms of how she moves and holds and expresses herself comes after the design is mostly solidified, of which we're getting closer to slowly but surely!
The more I work on this, the more I find myself growing attached to the characters. C:

I think you should go with 3 As a farm girl, short hair is both a mark of status as well as a practical means for what she does. Having it shoulder length also allows you to be expressive with it. (flipping and flowing with her head movement, or puffing up with her emotions like how they do it in Studio Ghibli films, etc.) It's also a fun contrast compared to the Lion Fairy who has mountains of hair. And finally, it gives her a clear silhouette in terms of head shape. That's my reasoning. Good luck choosing.
