The several iterations I went through for the two main characters in The Lion Fairy's story, the first story in the Fairytale Retellings book. Silhouettes are a good way to explore the characters' shapes to find something unique and appealing without worrying so much about minute details in the beginning. The top row is of The Lioness, and the bottom row is of the farm girl. I ended up going with 2 for The Lioness and 6 for the farm girl because they compliment one another:
All of the Lioness' weight is in her broad chest and shoulders, whereas all of the weight in the farm girl is in her hips and legs.
