WIP: I'll show you, PeeWee!
Added 2017-07-31 19:55:24 +0000 UTCA WIP sketch of a print I want to sell at Bronycon this year, as well as one of the many headcanon paintings I'll be doing to better illustrate my own personal headcanon of the MLP world. Spike here is about to show his pet/buddy phoenix PeeWee how to fly.
Spike himself does not have wings; he'll never grow them because he simply is a breed of dragon that lacks them, but he obtain his own set of wings through a pair of artificial ones Twilight manufactures herself. Strapped to his chest and back (like a backpack) is a "saddle" specially outfitted for his use only. The pack is magically powered by a enchanted crystal, said crystal acting also as the primary source of control over the wings. The moment Spike straps this thing on, the crystal syncs up with his innate magic, allowing him to control the wings as if they were his very own flesh and bone. I'll have to refine exactly how they work but I think this'll suffice for now.
As for the image, I'm trying to decide on whether or not it'll be digitally or traditionally colored. o3o

That's awesome! Though I wonder if Spike would ever be tempted to eat the crystal itself. Or maybe a little lick :P That is a really neat concept!
