Headcanon book Bestiary- sneak peek

It may not look like much, but this WIP sketch is actually for the limited edition versions of the headcanon book, so it's pretty important... to anyone who may be interested, at least!

One of the many creatures suggested for the book that I'm definitely doing is the Wyvern, but what I have in mind for them is a little different than what one would assume.

For starters, the Wyvern in the MLP world isn't a dragon, although it is a very distant relative of them (sorta like what hyenas are to cats), but they're more related to the bird than what they are to the dragon. Unlike their draconic counterparts, the Wyvern aren't sapient; instead they are domesticated creatures that act as the ponies' beasts of burden (they take the place of the horse in their world). They are omnivorous but prefer eating gemstones and fruit despite the teeth, and their are a variety of different sizes, shapes, and looks of them. Some are small house pets while other are large enough to carry two adult ponies in the air without much hassle. They are very passive and calm animals, bred to be gentle giants, and are very companion-driven.

Since I want them to look more approachable given their status as a domesticated animal, I'm gonna make it look fluffy with feathers like that of a bird. Not too fluffy, but yeah. x3

In the meantime, either tonight or tomorrow I will be posting up a poll asking what the remaining 9 animals should be in the bestiary for the book, so if you wanna participate keep your eyes peeled for it. ^.^
