Interestingly enough, I keep thinking about how this movie is like a failed version of Matrix 1 with Maddy being the Morpheus to Owen's Neo, except here Owen doesnt escape and rejects them as well as themselves (makes sense with Matrix also having trans allegory undertone as stated by Wachowski's). In some weird way it also reminded me of Spaceman (2024) with some of its dreamy melancholic vibe scenes & music, as well as Life is Strange 1 video game with the sad indie folk OST. From what I read the trans community really loves this movie which made them quite upset that it got 0 oscar noms while emilia perez got 13.
