A mysterious dark haired woman is being driven somewhere in a limo....and then her drivers are about to kill her but their car gets hit by some carousing teens. She escapes and stumbles her way into a house some lady is leaving and passes out.

There are two scenes that this mystery woman might be dreaming. Two detectives say theyre gonna try to find her and then literally never appear again. Then a guy and his friend see a REALLY spooky guy behind a Winkie's Diner.

Anyway! Betty is an ingenue fresh to da city of dreams staying at her aunt ruth's....and what do you know that's the very house the mystery girl, who names herself rita after a rita hayworth poster, stumbled into! The two launch into a delightful mystery exploration of Rita's true identity, with their only clues being that Rita has a bunch of money and a Blue Key. Also, Betty gets an audition for a part where she gets sexually harrassed but leans into it and gives a stunning perforance. She's almost offered a part in THE SYLVIA NORTH STORY, but that movie's director, Adam Kesher, is being pressured by the mob into taking a "camilla rhodes" as the star. Speaking of, here are the scenes in his subplot:

the mob tell him he has to take camilla rhodes as his movie's star and they HATE his espresso
billy ray cyrus is banging his wife
the mob have a guy killed in a coen brothers ass sequence
he meets The Cowboy who cryptically threatens him

Anyway! Betty and Rita go visit the apartment of a "Diane Selwyn" who they think is the lead to Rita's identity, and find a corpse EEK! Rita panics and starts to change her identity. THey have lesbian sex, and then Rita wakes up in the middle of the night chanting "SIlencio" and demands Betty take her to the CLUB SILENCIO. There, they are REALLY emotionally affected by a series of Sound Illusions. Then Betty finds a Blue Box magically appeared in her purse. They take it home, open it with Rita’s blue key, and then both disappear into it – EEK!

We then transition to a Nightmare/Reality Version of this world. Betty is now Diane Selwyn, a failed actress and Rita is now Carmilla Rhodes, a successful actress. They previously had a lesbian affair and then Carmilla/Rita dumped Diane/Betty. Diane seems to put out a hit on Carmilla, and then, confronted with the horror of what she did, sees some old people from the beginning in a tormenting vision and then kill herself. It’s weird!
