I was referring to the loss or more accurately the mitigation claimed by Classified, they were claiming aero gains and reduced chain tension to bring it level. Your method would work quite accurately and that is the system I would use if I was testing it.

I didn't understand your comment at the end Hambini when you said it was difficult to prove with regard to the estimated 4% loss. What would stop someone putting a 300w motor on the crank with a standard setup then swap over to 1x with Classified using the likes of a smart trainer? No more guessing about drive train losses etc?

I think it's going to flop unless a groupset manufacturer buys it and even then 4% (and that's me being conservative) is a huge loss
