State of the Patreon (11/18/24)

Dear Mighty Mavripers—

We hope you’re doing well and are having a nice start to the holiday season.  It’s the time of year for friends, family, and fattening feasts…and if you’re not into those things, you probably wouldn’t be here!  As they say in that old holiday nursery rhyme: “Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat…but not nearly as fat as the girls at Mavrip!”

Speaking of which, the first bird we need to “talk turkey” about is Savanah Georgia, whose singing career is beginning to suffer the ill effects of her weight gain.  (Her BMI is racing up the charts faster than her songs!)  The next chapter will reveal the lengths she’ll go to to mitigate the damage.  Will her measures be even more drastic than those of her waistline?  Stay tuned!

Another exciting development (beyond poor Savanah’s potbelly), is the debut of “Shalma’s Destruction,” our new first-person weight-gain adventure.  The serial format will be similar to "The Harem on the Hill"; however, it will differ drastically in its tone and setting. The voting process will also be slightly different.  Here’s how:

* As with THOTH, each chapter will present unique choices to the reader that will influence the action; however, most choices will be thematic rather than practical.  That means the choices will affect the story's tone beyond your typical “Do you take the door on the left or the door on the right?” Choose Your Own Adventure choices.

* The story and voting will be available to ALL PATRONS!  We want to encourage participation and give everyone a say in the story’s direction.  Get out there and vote, kids!  Shalma’s future depends on it.

* While the story will be accessible and playable by everyone, there will be content exclusive to our higher-tiered patrons.  For example, occasionally the narrative will shift to secondary characters played solely by our Enabled Overeaters and Sabotaged Snackers.  It might be a bandit plotting revenge, or a king ordaining world-changing policies, but a more select few will make their decisions.  Are you up for it?

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to this!  I don’t have a lot of experience in the Sword and Sorcery genre (apart from reading Lord of the Rings and playing some D&D as a kid), so while there will be some world-building and lore, I’m going to primarily focus on what I do best (i.e., Shalma’s destruction)! 

Finally, if you haven’t had the chance to read “Resistance is Feudal,” my horror weight-gain story set in the world of XCOM, please have a gander!  While I hid some Easter Eggs for fans of the game, you don’t need to have played it to follow what’s happening.
