A little administrative update...

Hey folks.
As Maverick mentioned would be happening in an earlier post, today we switched the Patreon page to a “charge up front” billing system.
If you are a current patron: this change probably won’t have much noticeable effect on you. You will continue to be charged for your pledge amount on the first day of every month.
If you are a new (or returning) patron: you will be charged for your full pledge amount immediately upon joining. Thereafter you will be charged on the first day of every month. Note that if you join near the end of a month, the time between that initial charge and the first monthly charge may be brief.
The main benefits of this change are:
- Maverick and I can make certain reward-y benefits (like “One Night Adventure”) available to new patrons sooner rather than waiting until the end of the month.
- It seems fairer in terms of providing a distinct access benefit to all you folks who very generously donate pledges versus those who just browse and leave before the end of a month.
The main drawback of this change is:
- Folks won’t be able to browse our Patreon-posted content as easily before deciding whether or not they want to join. The best remedy for that probably will be, as the library of material continues to grow, to make more of the older stuff accessible to the general public. That’s always been part of the plan anyway.
