After a lot of officials visiting on our vessel which we couldn't film, we were well instructed that we could NOT leave the marina to sail anywhere else in Tunisia?! This was explained to us that; since the new prime minister has taken over there has been political instability within Tunisia, and I believe also problems with human trafficking, drugs and all sorts of other things on boats! I also think that corruption is in every pore of society there and it is obviously beneficial if we stay put. In the long run we decide to stay for a while, mainly because the locals and marina staff are actually very nice and friendly, and it is very reasonably priced. But for anyone visiting be very careful, corruption is everywhere, especially the police! unless you go into the desert and then you find places like Douz just want allow, so it is an easier place to travel and live π Anyway we find resolutions easier with the Harbour Master, and get on with exploring Bizerte. Hope you enjoy!
