In the talent show, I don't know why Marmalade didn't do a burlesque act, as she's known for that? So cringe. I think she was going for something inspirational, but... yeah.... it was hard to watch. Chanel started off so strong but I wish she'd done something else afterwards, I hoped it would go somewhere. Dita disappointed me; it's ironic that the lyrics kept saying 'give me more', and like, I wanted MORE. Suki Yu was hilarious, and I hope Lil or Kyran wins! I loved your British accent and it was fun to watch you react to this; your hysterical laughter gave me life <3 ETA Your Scottish accent was fab 😁

2024-10-01 08:36:58 +0000 UTCThe Pizza Express Woking joke is referencing one on the Queen's sons (one of King Charles' brothers) who lied about being at a party with Jeffrey Epstein by saying that he was at a Pizza Express in Woking for a birthday party for one of hus kids. He's now been stripped of a load of titles and all Royal duties except for keeper of the corgis, and he isn't in the public eye any more. Between that and the whole Harry and Megan situation the Royal Family is going through a bit of tension.

2024-10-01 08:30:56 +0000 UTCLil was referencing the Gallagher brothers (Liam and Noel) from the rock/Britpop band Oasis who were big in the nineties. You might know the song Wonderwall. They are from Manchester (obviously), as is the rave club The Haçienda they talk about. The smiley faces are a nod to tabs of acid (the drug) which was big in the rave scene and had those faces and other art on them. "Mad for it" is a typical Mancunian phrase popularised by the Gallagher brothers. It just means "crazy about it" or "really into it". They also were famous for bringing back the parka coat as a fashion piece for men and women, which was traditionally military gear, in a sort of 90s does the 60's UK mod scene way, which was kind of their whole brand. I don't know if I liked the overall look (too much and too literal), but it was a cool concept that nobody under 30 would probably get and even less likely if they're not from the UK even though Oasis had success internationally.

2024-10-01 03:57:28 +0000 UTCSo glad to see you watch this. You losing your shit giggling at Marmalade's poetry slam is the only thing that made it bearable to watch. I had to mute it and hide behind the sofa when I watched it the first time. It's my own damage but I also can't stand that unapologetic earnestness... so cringe. Sorry, Marmalade. Also Kyran is already shaping up to be my winner and that pouch worn with a kilt is called a sporran. Obviously it's a bag and you put stuff it in but its secondary purpose is to stop the kilt blowing up and exposing your junk. Booooo.
