After Arrested Development, series creator Mitch Hurwitz & Will Arnett collaborated on the short-lived sitcom “Running Wilde” (2010). It stars Arnett as Steve Wilde, a self-centered, idle bachelor and heir to an oil fortune. The series follows Wilde's awkward attempts to regain the affection of his childhood sweetheart, Emmy, an environmentalist who had been living in the South American jungle, but whose young daughter does not want to return there and who secretly enlists Steve's help to keep Emmy at his mansion, leading to farcical situations and misunderstandings. 2025-11-04 01:31:40 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes from season 1. I agree, GOB is the standout in this episode (and many other episodes). I'm so excited for season 2, it's my favorite season of the show! This season 1 finale has some fun callbacks ("I've made a huge mistake," "I've got the worst f***ing attorneys," "light treason," Maeby kissing a family member to try and get attention from someone who walks right past without noticing). Someone else mentioned Michael noticing how similar Saddam's house was to the model home 8 episodes earlier. Also, the low carb trend was sort of foreshadowed a few episodes ago when GOB and Tobias were coming up with a business plan; GOB suggested they invest in a bagel shop because everyone likes to "carbo load." I've seen this show countless times, and I still don't get the joke behind George Sr. saying he's going to get a lethal injection because his son won't eat a potato.
