We have opossums in the US (which we pronounce “possum”). You guys have possums, which are a completely different animal. Our opossums will play dead when threatened. Sooo, why do we hate Mark again? BTW, Nick Offerman actually made that canoe.

2024-11-12 19:42:59 +0000 UTC"Playing possum" means playing dead. When a possum is threatened, it will sometimes pretend to be dead as a defense mechanism. People tend to think of possums as pests, but they are very docile, eat parasites, insects, rodents, snakes and carcasses that can cause their own problems, and are immune to snake venom and rabies, making them great neighbors who are very helpful to have around if you have a little land.
