2024-10-25 05:31:59 +0000 UTCThis episode is so cool, I think a lot of people thought about bloodbending being a possibility when watching but didnโt really think the kids show would go there lol When Hama rips the life out of the fire lilies itโs a pretty obvious metaphor to what she wants to do to the fire nation. While sheโs obviously a villain, you canโt really blame her for going nuts after what she experienced One theory is that Hamaโs escape is the reason the Fire Nation stopped taking water benders prisoner (and is therefore the reason for Kataraโs motherโs death), because they saw the potential danger that just one was able to cause for them Also neat detail: when Katara fights Hama she uses an earth bending technique (right around 22:19), which is why Hama has that shocked expression. She just straight up blocked a full-on tidal wave with ease when a typical water bender would usually try to dodge a move that intense
