Someone in the writer’s room must be a chess enthusiast. There’s the recent cheating controversy (and vibrating anal bead rumors) that other commenters mentioned, and there’s also the nod towards the 20th century Cold War chess rivalry that has been immortalized in a few Hollywood movies. Funny story: I forget the guy’s name, but some YouTube prankster actually beat a chess grandmaster using anal beads to signal what his next move should be. He set up a fake tv show and everything just to show it could be done.

Back in S5 during the recession episode (The Great Recession), Mac can't understand that the Dave and Busters card won't work at other establishments. Even after Dennis clearly explains it, and he's had his own real world experience of it not working. He can't follow any movie plot; during the Lethal weapon episodes he is constantly insisting on putting in long scenes of the characters explaining the plot in painful details, because he assumes otherwise nobody will know what's going on. He believes Dee is setting him up with a Busty woman for no reason (Mac and Dennis Break Up), he has no idea how to play both sides (Frank Retires), he thinks Dennis is talking about the soldier when describing going down on Chrissy Orlando (The Gang Dines Out). He has always been painfully dumb, and there's no reason to think a lifetime of drinking and head trauma is going to make him any smarter along the way.

There's a Norwegian grandmaster named Magnus Carlsen, a 32-year-old five-time World Chess Champion. He is widely regarded as the best chess player in the world. Ever. 2. In September 2022, he shockingly lost in a $500,000 tournament to a 19-year-old American player named Hans Niemann. His victory sent chess into uproar. 3. Speculation began because Niemann was known for cheating (using computer assistance) in some online chess games when he was younger. He has insisted that he is now "clean." He said that by some ridicoulous miracle he had guessed Carlsen's unusual opening would be and prepared for it. 4. I have to add: it is challenging to cheat in chess nowadays, especially in top tournaments, but not impossible. 5. Carlsen has hinted that he believes Niemann cheated. Experts are divided. 6. One theory, popularized by Elon Musk, is that Niemann used vibrating anal beads to help him. This became a meme.

During 2023, a dumb rumour started gaining popularity after a cheating controversy happened with a chess tournament during a match between Magnus Carlsen and Hans Niemann. The dumb rumour started on reddit and alleged that a vibrating sex toy was used to help Hans out during the match.

2024-10-06 06:52:10 +0000 UTCthis seems to be a fan favorite this season. i didn't find the main gag that funny or deserving a whole episode. i get the whole russia vs US rocky IV cold war vibe but they really didn't update it for the 21st century or do anything funny with it except charlie got to wear his patriot gear again. sinned system and mac and dee's dates was the much funnier side story. yes there are moments when dumb mac works but more often it's just infuriating lol
