So when pierce was at the table in the other timeline he was able to give his gift to Troy, so Jeff and Annie didn’t pick on him. That’s why he didn’t go to the bathroom lol.

2024-09-04 06:24:43 +0000 UTCthe episode commentary reveals a much more complex story, its on youtube if you wanna listen to it. they just had to cut so much for time. apparently it took 6 months to film and three directors were involved. i'm guessing they did bits here and there, but you can tell the effort was there. dan harmon said he was genuinely unsure if people would like the episode until it aired and saw the fans' reaction.
