On the podcast, they talk about how they used the front lobby of a bank or something like that for Guigino's, and they can't film there anymore. So no more Guigino's on Sunny :(

She was the police officer in charge at the hospital in Atlanta in Season 5. The couple episodes where Beth had been kidnapped and basically all the people inside the hospital were forced to do all the work to repay being "saved". Just a side rant. For the hospital barely having that many people living there, and the fact that it was a zombie apocalypse, the prisoners were constantly mopping the floors. Like all the fucking time.

2024-03-28 00:14:03 +0000 UTCYour assessment is about right. I think the loss of Glen, the stepping up of 2 writers/producers, and the general status of society with comedy (when comedy started dying off for the sake of not offending so much) contributed to losing the edge.

2024-03-27 23:42:22 +0000 UTCat this point i could literally write a dissertation on why sunny lost its edge starting season 13 lol it's not BAD but it's been watered down and tamed. it has to do with left vs right tribalism and the influence of hollywood, fans are definitely split on the later episodes mostly into 2 camps but i like to think i have a more nuanced position...even though whenever i say something i get piled on and accused of being a trump supporter or something. it's that tribalism - people think you have to be on one team or the other. and unfortunately i think rob and probably the new producer that joined in season 12 are stuck in this mindset rather than the old school south park ethos of just making fun of all humans. i won't really delve more into this until you guys are done with the series, and i'm curious to just see your natural reactions. there's quite a few strong episodes remaining

There are still some really good ones, but the ok ones are perceived as really bad because people have such heightened expectations after Phase 3 of the MCU. Apologies to the non-MCU fans who may not get this analogy. :P

2024-03-27 13:22:25 +0000 UTCyeah after this episode i was worried and lowkey didn't want to watch anymore but i'm sooo glad i did. there's still a lot of awesome episodes ahead. to me there's so many other shows that genuinely get awful mid way or towards the end. to me that's not the case with sunny. even the "bad" episodes are better than a lot of other shows and have impressed me in some way
