We have options:
Ashes to Ashes
The comedy short film that was actually selected last year (but I wrote it too expensive!) about a mother and son trying to work through their grief on a roadtrip to scatter their husband/father's and son/brother's ashes. But they're like, pretty incompetent at it.
New Submissions
People submit all new ideas for short films, and we go through the pitch process again. Then make a short film!
Feature Length Film
The Vessel - A psychological thriller/comedy about a group of friends, trapped in a house, trying to make sense of why their friend is speaking in tongues, and weird sh*t keeps happening. Also, they're working through old feelings, transitioning to full adulthood, and just generally dealing with interpersonal drama in a weird, mildly scary pressure-cooker.
We'd also pursue a theatrical release with this movie. And at the very least, take it on tour around the country (world?) to do screenings.

Very curious about the Vessel, but also a hesitant because mixing comedy and horror (and drama?) is really difficult.... And if you make the feature, how does that impact the schedule for Ashes to ashes? If you do a feature now, will it make it easier for you to do A2A a feature too? Because that would be nice.

I have a bit of a problem here, because before seeing the video in the other post about this my first and very strong reaction was 'It would not be fair to do anything else than Ashes to Ashes, because you promised you would' (and I am not that interested in Ashes to Ashes personally tbh, but it was voted last year and I think you should stick to that) BUT, you said in the video that you might not have enough money for Ashes to Ashes this year. If waiting another year would make it possible to get the budget for it, then I say take another year. To add to that, the feature film really sounds cool and I want to invest in that too....

Okay, I'm going with The Vessel, but I want it to be fully understood that I will not be disappointed with any of these choices. I'm here for the ride 🤘. Editing to add that Alan has talked about wanting to do a feature film again. It would be epic to make that happen 😊.
