In some ways its a shame that the theatrical cut exists. Once you've seen this mess there's no doubt you'll be put off watching any other versions. However, the assembly cut addresses many of the shortcomings and makes far more sense as a whole especially regarding the individual characters of more of the inmates. Unfortunately the extended runtime required to do this really tests the viewer and there's no getting away from the dubious CGI. This is easily the brownest film ever made but i'm actually a fan of the brown. Make of that what you will. Another great breakdown despite the ultimate disappointment.
