My daughter first introduced me to EXO in 2018. I grew up listening to soul music and I knew she listened to Kpop - but I wasn’t a fan. She showed me a Youtube video of EXO performing Tempo and I was intrigued. I struggled in the beginning to tell them all apart, to be able to recognize their voices, and of course their names. D.O. stood out to me because of his RnB tone and easily became my favorite. Then I heard ‘Tell me what is love’ and ‘Sweet Lies’ and was hooked. I’ve listened to many other Kpop groups over the past 4 years but EXO remains my favorite. NCT (all the sub-units: NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U & WayV) come a close second. They are also under SM Entertainment. All 23 members are talented and have many strong vocalists, but my two favorites are Doyoung & Taeil. Enjoy your EXO journey and when you get a chance listen to some NCT music. My favorite is NCT 127’s ‘Back to You’ with a bit of RnB flavor.
