Demons Within Update 9 CG First Draft preview

Hey hey!

With Update 8 done and released, it's time to start moving on to Update 9! And we'll start off with the promised treat of the scene that didn't make it into Update 8...

As you can see above, we have the first draft of the CG that will feature in the scene and today, as we get to see it, I'll talk a little bit about it as well. :D

While initially the scene in the baths, which includes some meaningful conversations involving Commander Brigham, was going to happen in nothing but sprites, it just... wasn't good enough. I had most of it written down. Still, even though that scene definitely has nudity (as you can very well see), it's not the main focus of it. I apologize to all of you eager people itching to get a piece of one of these two! While there are some planned shenanigans there, if you finished Update 8, maybe you can grasp that the conversation about to happen is a serious one at the beginning.

I tried it out with sprites at first, but I felt like I couldn't convey the Commander's authoritative figure and position in this conversation. Even if his sprite came out great as well, as most of you must have seen by now. It needed a little more. Not to mention that, though Update 8 brought a bunch of lore pieces and all, it didn't bring much in the sense of new stuff. I wanted something more, and after a lot of deliberation...

We decided to invest in the CG. As Blain and I sat down together to brainstorm how the story and artwork would work, we had some good ideas. They made the scene more complicated and, therefore, since I didn't want to rush Blain to finish a whole complicated CG in a few small days, nor did I want to delay Update 8 for a few more weeks, we pushed it off. Now, as you can see, the development is going well. In the first draft you can't see all the moving parts that this CG will have yet, but maybe later on... And I'll probably leave a little bit of it as a surprise as well, even with the previews. ;)

In the mean time, you can enjoy the drafted lines of Commander Brigham and Captain Garret. Keep in mind that everything is subject to change, as this is early stages, but I hope you'll like it!

Update 9 will bring this and more! I'll make a devlog soon talking more about it with Patreon as a whole, not just the preview tier.
