Nationalism Video
Added 2023-08-15 16:57:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone, going by the timeline I gave on my last update I should have probably uploaded something by now, so I wanted to fill you all in.
I finished setting up the new studio and spent about 10 days reading/preparing for the nationalism vs patriotism video towards the end of July. As I worked on it, I lost conviction that the 'nationalism vs patriotism' concept was the right course of action for me, and became increasingly convinced that I should ditch the patriotism angle and make a longer 'in-depth explanation' video for nationalism instead. Similar to what I did for socialism and fascism (and democracy, though I titled/structured that one a little differently).
So that means the video is going to be two or three times longer than what I initially planned, and significantly more ambitious in scope and depth. Given that, I decided to add about two more weeks of research into the pipeline to flesh out some aspects of the piece. That's all done now and I've begun recording (as of yesterday). I'm feeling good and am really gunning to have this thing done by the end of August, but as always I won't release it until I think it's ready.
Thanks again for your support, and I hope my work is worth it. Looking forward, the research for the 'origins of WWII' piece is still done, so I'll do a Patron's vid in between, but besides that I can go straight into production for the WWII piece once the nationalism piece is done.

One being my roommate is from Ireland, and having grown up in the 70',s in Dublin he has some pretty strong feelings on nationalism. I think I got a little confused about the whole concept, being from Canada where the US looms so large. I always glean a great deal of new understanding of the specifics of the subject. I would have loved the patriotism/nationalism version, but it doesn't matter! I'm sure it will be meticulously researched and expounded, without any trace of being boring or uninteresting. Appreciate the work you do on these for everybody.
