The Wild One - Chapter Four

I'm just gonna be honest with you guys, it's been a hell of a week and I don't have much to say to hype you up for this chapter. Instead, I'm just gonna tell you a little story about when I was writing this one.
So, as most of you probably know by now, my gf goes through and edits all of my books with me now but when I first started writing The Wild One I wanted a break from all the heavy critiquing shit. I just wanted to do something for me, so when she would read through it, she was just reading it as a reader. At least that's what I tried to stress, because it really allows you to get swept up in the narrative instead of nitpicking all the little things that might impede that flow.
Anyways, this has been the book that's helped me flex muscles that I didn't even know I had, and by the reactions that I got from my girl, they were really hitting in this chapter especially. Throughout most of it she was just like fed up with me and wondering why I was so damn disgusting. And yet, she couldn't stop reading it. Which I take as a pretty big compliment to my writing ability, when you don't want to keep going but you just gotta know what the hell is going on.
And on that note, happy reading y'all!

So I'm wondering if I'm odd because I really liked the ritual. Don't get me wrong I don't want to partake in it, but it made for a great read and chance to showcase more emotion and thought procesess of Max as she undertook it. It also cemented Tug in my heart, the subtle signs of concern and reassurance. The end scene in the hammock was comforting and powerful at the same time, brilliant.

I agree with your gf. The ritual was kinda gross. But just like her, I couldn’t stop reading. This chapter is amazing. There is something about it that just feels different, especially in the end, where it seems like Max and Tug can “sense” the other. I am excited about what’s gonna happend next.
