"Five Magics" (Megadeth) Solo Lesson/Analysis
Added 2025-03-27 20:25:00 +0000 UTCWell I think it's finally time to start wrapping up the Rust In Peace solo lessons by conquering this absolute monster of a song. I admit I've been putting off doing Five Magics for a while as these solos are HARD (probably the most challenging on the album) and quite intimidating from both a transcription and performance perspective. But here they are finally for you guys to mess around with!
All 4 of the mini solos provide a substantial technical challenge, consisting of Marty's trademark alien phrasing (but somehow even weirder than usual) at a no-nonsense speed of 170 bpm. The main, longer, solo is less technically demanding but is entirely in 5/8 time and is very difficult follow along with.
