HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

I'm always receiving loads of requests for private lessons and custom song lessons, both of which I haven't wanted to do as I feel like it goes against the idea of what I've been trying to build here at the Guitar School. I felt that I would only want to implement these things if I could do so in a way that was in-line with our philosophy - and now I've found the perfect solution!

Introducing BEANS (because what else would it be), the official Guitar School currency!

What are BEANS?

For those of you who have been active on the Discord server over the past few months you're probably familiar with the monthly leaderboards system I implemented. Members would earn xp throughout the month and then the top 3 scorers at the end of the month would win a free 30 min guitar lesson with me. I thought this system was cool but I didn't like that it penalized members who were working hard but weren't able to consistently be active on Discord. This is what BEANS fixes!

You can earn BEANS via the following means...

👉 Posting your progress, requesting feedback and engaging constructively in the special ⁠🎸-share-your-playing and ⁠❓-ask-bradley channels on Discord

👉 Participating in the monthly solo/riff challenge

👉 Participating in the weekly lick challenge which will be coming very soon

Once you've saved up enough, you can spend your hard earned BEANS in the ⁠💲-shop channel for various goodies such as custom server badges, song lesson requests and even private guitar lessons!

Once you've earned your currency it's yours to keep until you spend it - I'll never be resetting the economy. In the future I may expand the functionality to include being able to trade it, gamble it, and other potentially cool things but for now I'm keeping it simple.

If goes without saying, but obviously you need to be a member of the Discord server to be able to earn and spend currency.

I'll be monitoring this closely over the coming weeks to make sure everything works properly. If anyone has any questions about the system, or any suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
