I cover that stuff a bit in the video. I don't find in my experience it makes any difference to tuning stability, but it's not going to do any harm either. As for leaving the strings on, again mixed messages around but it's more about not putting strain on the truss rod

My father left his Rickenbacker stringed with the common tension for years. The neck broke in half.

Thanks Alex, another excellent piece. I was previously told to ensure at least 2 winds around the peg for the string and to fold the string back on itself so it locks on the first turn. Thoughts? Also never leave a guitar unstringed for any length of time or the neck will warp.
