"Lucretia" (Megadeth) Solo Transcription & Lesson/Analysis
Added 2023-11-09 13:25:36 +0000 UTCEven though it's often overshadowed by its more famous counterpart, "Tornado Of Souls", the solo to Megadeth's "Lucretia" easily holds its own as one of the greatest Metal solos ever recorded! It's a complete masterclass in phrasing, playing effectively over chords, and how to screw with traditional pentatonic licks to make them way more interesting.
The internet is definitely lacking a super accurate tab for this solo so I took the time to transcribe it myself and meticulously document every small detail. In this video I explain how best to approach it from a technical perspective, and also analyze what exactly is going on harmonically. As usual I've also provided a slower backing track so that players of all abilities can have some fun with it!
