Just finished Fantastic Four and that teleporting an egg line fries my brain. They said it would take the same power New York uses in half a second, and if scaled up to Earth, they’d need all the energy humanity produces. But the math doesn’t even come close. E = P × t New York draws about 20 gigawatts on average, so in half a second that’s around 1×10¹⁰ joules. If that’s the energy to move something egg-sized, scaling it volumetrically to Earth’s size means using the cube of the diameter ratio. Earth is about 1.27×10⁷ meters across, an egg is roughly 0.05. R = (1.27×10⁷ / 0.05)³ = 1.64×10²⁵ Multiply that by the original energy: E_scaled = 1×10¹⁰ × 1.64×10²⁵ = 1.64×10³⁶ joules. That’s not “all human energy.” That’s more than seven thousand times Earth’s entire gravitational binding energy, enough to rip the planet apart and turn it into plasma brighter than the Sun. It’s wild how casually they threw that line out like it was just some clever physics smart man rant. The math doesn’t make sense at all. Reed built a planetary death sentence. I know it's not supposed to be realistic but I was just curious :) and it turns out after the calculations it was laughable how incorrect they were.

Bro who was saying the 2015 movie was the best? They are mid th 2000s movies are better a bit corny but good.

I was shocked that you were advised to go into this film without having seen the others, as this film was made in such a way were they assumed people had seen the prior films. That’s why you didn’t actually see them getting their powers in this one. That being said, this is still quite good as a standalone, and if you enjoyed your introduction to F4 I highly recommend all of the other 3. In my opinion 2005’s and 2007’s films are MUCH better than 2015’s, but I have enjoyed all four of the F4 films in different ways

What you puffing on at 42 minutes?

Alex, the cleanup part of the destruction of these city-wide battles is addressed in the first MCU Spider-Man, I know you talk about this all the time with superhero movies. The entire villain arc of the Vulture in that movie is from his construction crew losing their contract for cleanup of the Battle of New York to a government sanctioned program called the Dept of Damage Control.

Mid compared to Phase 1 and 2 maybe but comparing it to what we've been given in the last few years, aside from 2-3 specific films, this felt like we were getting back on track as far as quality, originality and world building.

After watching this movie a few times I gotta say it's pretty mid in terms of Marvel movies. The performances from the actors were pretty flat and Galactus ended up being a big nothing burger. One of the baddest villains in all of Marvel and here he shows up, wrecks a few skyscrapers and is forced into a portal. Lex Luthor in the Superman movie, a human, was a bigger threat to Earth than Galactus was in here and that hurts the movie overall. I loved it my first time watching it, 2nd time I liked it, and on my 3rd it was severely mid to me.

Fantastic movie! I loved the whole aesthetic and direction of the movie, my only « complaints » are that I wish we had more of this silver surfer and Galactus wasn’t introduced and « so easily dealt with » because it actually went pretty smoothly, he came, got kinda spanked and ejected real quick. He’s the type of vilain I believe should have at the very least 2 movies before being seen in such bad position. We didn’t get to fathom how strong he really is I loved it still!! One of the best movies since endgame and I definitely got the « early mcu » feeling

Rocketboy
