Top Gun: Maverick (UNEDITED)

Hey gobstoppers!

This movie was everything I wanted… and somehow so much more!

This movie is the rare sequel that doesn’t just live up to the original, but it fucking soars past it. Not according to my mom though lol. The action, the emotion, the pacing. It all hit perfectly!! But what really blew me away was how much emotion it had! On BOTH sides of the spectrum. Immense amounts of happiness, and immense amounts of sadness.

They paid homage to the original SO INCREDIBLY WELL! The callbacks. The music. The energy. It respected where it came from, but also seemed to evolve quite a bit. It grew. It became something bigger. Something deeper. But let’s be real… there is no Maverick without Top Gun. That original movie walked so this one could absolutely fly... sorry about the flight pun. But not really.

Tom Cruise is a major man crush of mine! I am legitimately going to look into flight schools now. Or maybe I'll just buy a fucking flight simulator... which is super lame compared to actual flight, but wtf. Have you seen me? The new cast brought it too... especially Rooster. That scene with the piano was stellar! They really crushed it with this film.

I left this one feeling emotional, satisfied, and extremely happy!

Thank you guys for pushing me to watch this! I loved it more than I ever expected to.

Love you all so much,
Alex

You know. I might get some hate for this. But both movies focused so much on maverick feeling guilty. But honestly. Iceman is the one that should've felt guilty. Go back and watch the accident closely. Maverick and Goose were being wingman behind ice. Ice was taking too long to take his shot. They told him to move so they could shoot instead. And Iceman banks to the side, in front of their plane. Literally putting the jetstream in front of them that caused the jetwash to happen and later, goose's death.

Tell me why i just noticed the Pope in the cockpit!!!! Lmao

Fun fact, the guy who played the pilot “Bob”, Pheonix’s backseater, was ALSO the guy who played bob in Thunderbolts! Talk about a type cast. 😂

It has been a long time since I've seen this movie since it came out in theaters and and when they showed the guy wearing the glasses in the bar. I'm like. Oh Hey it's the guy that played Bob in the Thunderbolts. And then when they asked him his name and he says Bob. I'm like. Oh my God I started laughing so hard I couldn't stop what are the chances that his name is Bob in both the Thunderbolts movie and the Top Gun movie.

Iron_claw

Crazy that his name is Bob in this and in thunderbolts 😂

Yes, Mach is measured in times the speed of sound so Mach 1 is the speed of sound and then you multiply the speed of sound 10x so 7,600MPH is correct. A plane in real life has achieved this feat and is called NASA’s X-43A though it faces challenges with design and overheating.

The eating at the start of this video gave me a whole new appreciation for the editors of the youtube versions...

Between this and Dune: Part Two, they're both sequels that exceed expectations tenfold.

Fun fact, the opening scenes with the Darkstar were filmed at Naval Air Station China Lake. My dad was commanding officer for one of the squadrons stationed there (VX-31 Dust Devils, you can see the insignia in some of the shots) So I've been in those hangars and on those tarmacs you see. I've been through the gate that gets its roof blown off.

So Bob is played by Lewis Pullman, the son of Bill Pullman who played Lonestar in Spaceballs. They just announced Spaceballs 2 with Bill Pullman coming back as Lonestar and Lewis Pullman playing his son in the movie. So a father and son will be playing a father and son.

Evan

So funny when this movie was coming out, China thought the Darkstar was a real plane and sent out surveillance drones to spy on the base that held it
