Be Careful!!

Hey guys! Just a quick but IMPORTANT heads up:

Someone has been impersonating me in the comments, replying to people with messages like:

“You’ve been selected for a giveaway, contact me on WhatsApp +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx”

Let me be very clear:

❌ That is NOT me.

❌ I will NEVER ask you to contact me on WhatsApp.

❌ I am not running any random comment giveaways.

If you ever see a reply from "Alex Hefner" or any account pretending to be me, check closely:

✅ Real posts from me will always say "CREATOR" next to my name here on Patreon or YouTube. Or my name will be BLUE.

If you're unsure, DM me or the MODS here first before responding to anything.

Please stay safe out there, and don’t give your info to these scammers. Love y’all and thank you for being part of this community 🙏

LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Alex

I got a message from someone saying it was you. Naturally I didn’t believe them but all they said was they wanted to smooch my gooch. I’m thinking this one’s legit.

Always trace your thoughts: was giving away money or engaging with someone your idea? If you're not sure, assume it wasn't. Yes, it may seem obvious to not react to folks blatantly shitting on the actual demeanor of the impersonated character, but not everyone can necessarily discern, well, even faces or names, or account handles—anything along that spectrum, really—and even really fucking smart people fall for all sorts of shit, knowing perfectly well that they will. Also, consider that this is just the surface. People get ridiculously crafty with scams, so much so that most of us will never really be aware of a good chunk of them. Animal abuse is a particularly fucked-up niche that actually nets some of the worst humans on this fun planet big dollars; YouTube, to this day, has a healthy primate torture economy, fueling (mostly Cambodian or otherwise SEA) some wicked, wicked families in broad daylight - in no small part because a percentage >5 % of our fellow fellows actually loves seeing little capuchin monkeys freezing and self-soothing in an endless, waterboard-like shower... with every single comment conveniently ignoring that this is the latest modality of not quite snapping critters' legs in order to bypass platform moderation policies. And don't get me wrong, despite whatever shit Alphabet-adjacent entities go through, they still are the very best, simply by virtue of them having to be the best. Whenever I see some Rick Beato-type diatribe about the good old days, I remember YouTube and how it had snuff, CSAM, and casual excess porn until Kingdom Come... and that wasn't even that far back. Might as well have been Ogrish-light if you went down the wrong goddamn rabbit hole; liveleak had nothing on the instant desire for us to just flood every crevice of the Internet with perversities. “Sit your ass back down,” the old-ass fucks will yell at you, narrating how if you were older than 7 when shit went down, you'd pull every stop to forbid your teenager kid from using THAT Internet, so much so that you're solid in “alienation” and “your kid is going to run away from home at 15”-territory. So now we're on Reddit, and there suddenly are these great subs about helping others with their little kitties because economic hardship is... hard. Fair enough, crowdfund fucking animal well-being any which way you can; we're already mass-torturing dozens of billions annually, might as well even it out a bit or something to that effect. Wanna bet how many of those sweet strays that suddenly get flooded into the “money for treatment” subs have been harmed for exactly that goal? Money? It's scams upon scams, stacked upon scams. I can't help but draw parallels with the argument against whatever contemporary AI really is, with people fearing the machine paper-clip optimizers so much. My dear, dear guy, we are squeezing every inch out of hurting mammals; you think sandboxed thinky-analogs are going to be the bigger issue here? I have nothing but optimism for humanity's future; things could still be so much worse, and could have been at any given point in time. But that doesn't mean I don't get to see the messed-up aspects of this freaking existence for what it sometimes is, Jesus ball-fondling Christ. I mean, there is a silver lining in today's age, and it does happen to circle back to ML, gen-AI in particular: as soon as we can just fake hostage-or-animal-harm material, that too will decrease, and I'd happily put humanity's extra 10 % of comfort on the line if we could just start behaving the way we want to see ourselves. Still, for all the convoluted excitement: There's always someone with ulterior motives. Most of the time it's innocent ads and sponsorships, 15 % of the time it's some stupid ERC-20 pump and dump. The really tricky ones you barely even notice. Someone wants information? Talk to them, it's cool. They want to trade some currency because their loved one is in the hospital? Call the bleeding coppers and tell them to go fuck themselves; you're not the exchange, and you're not going to assess on the spot if old Bulgarian lev are still in circulation or not. If nothing else, always think it through, on the order of at least a day. If you don't have the time, it's not worth your time. money is somehow in play -> assume it's a fucking scam nothing is ever urgent enough to need your immediate intervention -> assume it's a fucking scam verify first, pay and do good later
