Star Wars: Rebels | S3 E15| "Trials of the Darksaber" | (UNEDITED)

Hey guys!

Ok. I have something to say. This episode hit me in the FUCKING SOUL!

It wasn’t just good... it was emotional, intense, and straight-up beautiful in a way I did NOT expect. I came into this episode ready for some lightsaber training and Sabine sass, and instead I got an existential therapy session with Kanan that nearly made me tear up!

Sabine is finally getting some real depth here, and it’s heavy. The way she’s carrying all that guilt, that shame, that pain... fuck dude, it HURT to watch.

ALSO, Kanan! Dude went full tough-love Jedi Dad and actually pulled it off without being annoying for once.

That final training scene with the music swelling and Sabine finally letting go of all her bullshit? GOOSEBUMPS. Literal goosebumps. If this is the kind of storytelling Rebels is heading into, I’m locked THE FUCK in.

Thanks for watching this one with me! This shit is getting REAL.

Love you all so much,
Alex

Cool little detail in this episode - Kanan, whilst dueling Sabine at the end, is using the same lightsaber form as Count Dooku (Form II / Makashi) is seen using throughout his tenure in Star Wars. This form was created by the Jedi specifically for the purpose of duelling Sith (bearing in mind that Dooku was once a Jedi who was Yoda's apprentice and Qui-Gon's master).

Remember Mandalorians are almost as ancient an enemy of the Jedi as the Sith, thousands upon thousands of years of wars against each other

Isaiah Miller

We all know they're like a family with Kanan and Hera as the parents and Ezra, Sabine, and Chopper as the kids and Zeb as the fun uncle (or something like that). These episodes seem like Kanan finally deciding to parent his daughter that he's been neglecting for the past few years and now he's over protective.

On a side tangent, am I the only one who loves it when Kanan, in front of 2 Manadlorians, completely asserts the Jedi's strength when saying, "History Lesson! The Jedi won the war with Mandalore!". I think it is just funny because as much as I love Mandalorians, they are kinda hella glazed and it is funny, at least to me, when Kanan snaps them back to reality with that cold hard reality check that they lost and that the Jedi are just better.

You wanted to know which show gives you the perspective of what Mandalore and the Mandalorians are like? This is it.

top tier episode

dude andor would be sick... and then rouge one and the ogs again xD. But realistically bad batch would be great

This episode reminds me of the song that "SuperDope" put together called "Star Wars Lofi - Sabine's Theme (Chill Lofi Remix)". It includes parts of the fighting dialogue from this episode. I love Sabine's theme that Kevin Kiner composed, but the added dialogue portion is the chef's kiss.

Tino Heller

Dude. I forgot how intense the last two minutes of this episode are.
