Hey guys!

What the FUCK did I just watch?!! I have been super excited to check this movie out, because it seems like all anyone can talk about recently! I thought Michael B. Jordan did a phenomenal job with this role!

So impressive! Such a wild movie that tied together horror, historical drama, and action all into one. Super unique and original movie!

I can't believe I am saying this, but watching a movie about racism (kinda), culture, and mixing vampires into this shit was WILD! I think that the vampires play a pretty significant role in regard to symbolism of the movie!

FUCKING NUTS! Loved loved loved this one! And that quote: "You keep dancing with the devil, one day he's gonna follow you home" is haunting but fucking badass, as well!

Thank you all for watching this one with me! You guys mean the world to me <3

Love,

Alex

Alex, you should watch Twilight movies, dude😎… but this movie is overhyped in my opinion, it’s not bad, but not as great either

Darja

Man I love how clueless you can sometimes be :D thinking about demons and shit and how they flying :D When that american native friend said at the beginning "I hope you didnt invite him inside" you should know its a vampire :D you need to watch more movies about vampires Alex :D just a note: vampires couldnt go inside of any building without being invited first.

This movie was not great. People hyped & praised this movie WAY too much

And just to think all these costumes were from the first draft of Blade that hasn’t been made…sorry Mahershala

Man it has to be one of my favorite movies ever. On a cultural level, this just amaze me so much. Ryan Coogler’s movies are always bringing culture in the light I love it. We don’t have much movie in Hollywood putting respect on African/black culture so that was so cool to experience ! Thanks for watching this one, I wasn’t expecting it, less so fast lol

Rocketboy

I CAN TELL THIS IS THE GREATEST REACTION BASED ON THE FIRST 5 MINUTES

desmend

I love this movie, allot of people say it was overhyped and mid, I get that everyone has there own opinion but it's so respectful and rewarding, and refreshing, but I also didn't come to it for horror I came to it to see culture and representation, so it check all my boxes.

Talia Vialpando

Ashley bee Hooper

I want to comment here because I feel there is something often missed because Remmick is white. Remmick is a fascinating antagonist because he is not an oppressor in search of cultural imperalistic assimilation. Remmick is Celtic, a group of people that pre-dates Gaelic Irish and Scottich ancestry. This is why Remmick is drawn by Sammie's music and its ability to bring together his people, Remmick does not have his people anymore, given that his community of people were wiped out by the colonization of Christianity to their islands centuries ago. I love his character because vampire colonization parallels the black communities oppression from white people through the embodiment of Remmick. However, Remmick see's vampirism (as best as he can because his soul and therefore himself is not all there but trapped as Annie says) as a way for two groups of oppressed people to join in peace and love together, a community that shares all cultural value but in some twisted sense also comes at the expense of cultural erasure in its hybridity but also robbing of the people (this sense as a vampire) in its transformation. A robbing of being individual to a hive mind, albeit vampirism, colonialization, imperialism, etc. Anyways! great reaction! I just wanted to add that since Remmick's whiteness was throwing off Alex, which makes sense in a movie set in 1932 and heavily revolved around racism. I am also Irish so I wanted to defend Remmick's complexity as an Irish character even if we will never truly know the real Remmick since he is a victim to the vampire soul transformation. Anyways that was long as fuck so if you read this thanks :) and if you disagree please be kind, I am a sensitive soul and a human being with an opinion.
