This episode was a tough one to watch, namely because it was the very first episode of this show without Joel, and you could really feel that. The tension, sadness, and hurt was palpable.
I LOVE how they used this episode as an opportunity for the other characters and the audience to mourn Joel's death a bit. Seems like they really took their time and allowed those feelings to marinate.
Part of me is at least hoping there will be flashbacks with Joel so we can get some of his energy back. MY GOSH!! I keep thinking back to that scene with Ellie screaming on the floor and Joel getting stabbed in the neck.
Fuck man. That was hard to watch. This season has been incredible so far. I am thoroughly enjoying myself... if you can say that after watching a character you love so much be slaughtered.
