LET’S WATCH: Star Wars: Rebels S2 E6 - "Brothers of the Broken Horn"

NO FUCKING WAY!?!?!?

HONDO!?!?!!!!!!!!!

Now I'll be honest. This Hondo doesn't feel like the same Hondo from Clone Wars... I really like this character A LOT, but for some reason it seems really weird!

Watch the episode to see what I mean!

Love you guys!

Alex

I mean man you got to remember it’s been 15 years since we’ve seen Hondo and the years hasn’t been kind to him. The man’s now more of an old scoundrel than a pirate captain. He’s an old man who can’t fight like he used to and who has no crew. Man had to adapt to survive

Nightmareman99

You have to remember it has been 15 years since clone wars. People changed not only cause they grew up but because of the Empire

shataysia nelson

All of the characters have great arcs in this show. One of my favorite things about it! 🙂

renuzui

He’s def a bit more mellowed out, but I still loved him, personally. Has one of my favorite lines/moments later on 🙂

renuzui

Yes, exactly. He’s different because he’s older and obviously been through some stuff. You could say this about a lot of the characters on these shows. It’s literally called “character development” lol.

renuzui

Some of it may also do with the Disney-fication tbh like you were saying Hondo casually killed a lot back in the day and it was mainly just to get a reaction from Obi wan or anakin lol I doubt Disney would let that slide

G Lord Robinson

You gotta understand the empire has made the galaxy an infinitely worse place. Hondo always had those teeth on his chin if you remember he just had them short and trimmed, with the empire ruining pretty much everyone we know’s lives that man hondo lost his crew he can’t even shave down his face teeth anymore lol

G Lord Robinson

Hondo!!! 🪣🪕 🚀

Josh Bruner

are you getting cynical on us??

Astromech Jeremy

Be qui.et

Astromech Jeremy

No, I was disappointed with Hondo when I first saw him in this episode comparing him to his clone wars counterpart, but you have to realize he is an older condo now alone Hondo

Daisy Azuras

You have to realize this is old man Hondo. He’s pretty much lost his whole pirate gang and everything else that he had from during the clone wars. Is basically gone now he’s basically just an old man traveling through space pulling small scale con jobs so yeah, he is different than he was when he was younger, but he’s still Hondo

Daisy Azuras

Idk if you've figured out that the voice of Azmorigan is the voice of Po's dad in Kung fu panda haha. Just picture him saying " Noodles!" Haha

Salazar79Z28

Hondo is an older man and he has lost his crew, of course he is different

Santi

Ezra summed up the episode at the end, if he'd met Hondo before the ghost crew, he'd have been running with Hondo since that's basically the next step from what he was doing when he was living on his own: stealing and scamming to survive. Now he realizes how far he's come already when he sees what Hondo is and what he does compared to what the ghost crew does and how much better he feels about being part of something good.

Andrew Sitek

Damn Hondo had a good glow down in this show 😭 glad they fixed it with Star Wars Outlaws and Battlefront (optical speaking)

Oliver

Just so you know Hondo meant Obi-Wan when he said that he was friends with a Jedi

Cecilia

Did it offend you little guy?

Skyde

alright i’ve commented alot on this post already but saying man up to a 14 year old isn’t realistic, it’s just blatant ignorant and stupid. the kid’s growing up, i bet my life savings you were a moron at 14 alex. stop this toxic masculinity bullshit bro it’s not tough it’s just lame

canonscott

“are you a sympathizer with anybody?” yeah bro remember his whole conversation with katooni about choosing her own path and making sure she’s happy. he’s very charitable and genuinely kind at heart even though he’s done some fucked up things. this isn’t new to rebels, he’s always been this way.

canonscott

he thinks jordan peterson is an intellectual, idk what you expect from that

canonscott

around 15 actually but yes

canonscott

Hondo just old man … seen sum shit that’ll change you

Ryan

The criticism of Hondo is unwarranted. These characters aren’t supposed to be exactly the same as clone wars. 20 years of time has lapsed!

Drew Baucom

Alex, its been over a decade since the clone wars. So you're absolutely right, Hondo literally isn't the Hondo we used to know and love..

zach

Even though Hondo was always a Dbag he had his crew loyal to him to a certain degree. After the empire he lost his crew and now you can tell he’s longing for a companion. He also doesn’t hold the same authority he once did so he can’t act the way he used to. Now, he is just all talk. But he is still the same hondo and his arc in rebels to me is phenomenal

Alex Sartip

Alex.... your conservatism in this episode kinda annoyed me.

IGOR PODEMSKI

Hondo’s most iconic moments are in The Clone Wars and I definitely enjoy him more in that show, but as others have said, he’s lost his crew and been on his own for a long time at this point. That experience, combined with age, has softened him. He’s also always had a soft spot for certain people like Obi-Wan in particular, so it’s not too surprising that he’d feel similarly about Ezra.

Louis Augeri

Why is Hondo behaving not in the same way? Simple.... he can't. He basically lost everything and is scared of the Empire [ like 99,9% of the galaxy ]

IGOR PODEMSKI

I understand he may act different in this show, but we don’t tolerate any kind of slander of HONDO OHNAKA in this household

Cole Romero

I know what you mean about Hondo, but there’s good reason for him to be different. After the rise of the Empire they forced his gang to break up, so he’s been on his own for a long time. He doesn’t have any of the people he used to run with, he doesn’t have the power or money he used to, he’s pretty much completely alone. To me it seems like the way he’s changed is a reflection of that.

MLGGrievous

The reason Hondo may feel different is maybe due to Disney having to look over the scripts more closely. Clone Wass Hondo was more free to be himself, but it could also be his age and the fact he’s on his own
